In memoriam

J.C. McClure

J.C. McClure, Jay Bird, as his family lovingly called him, passed away May 13, 2004, at VHS Hospice, surrounded by his devoted family, after a valiant fight with cancer.

JC was born on July 3, 1939, in Macon County, Tenn. He served four years in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Norton High School in 1957. His love for adventure and the solitude of what nature can give you took him to Cheyenne, Wyo., where he lived and worked for B/N Northern Railroad as an engineer until he retired after 30 years of service.

JC spent his last brief years on his lake house in Clendening, Ohio, at peace with his birds and nature. He loved the outdoors and his orchards. He had a sense of humor that was so subtle but his words were so wise and they will be missed.

Preceded in death by his fa ther, Noble R. McClure; his mother, Sally E. McClure; and two sisters, Johnie K. and Patsy E., he is survived by brothers, Robert (Ruth) McClure of Green; his devoted buddy and brother, Jack (Linda) McClure of Akron, James Daniel (Marie) McClure of Akron; sisters, Margaret (Evan) Reed of Fairlawn, Judy (Dan) McPeak of Akron, Rebecca (Bob) Goff of Portage Lakes, Norma (Gary) Ketterman of Ellet; also numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved from his heart; special Aunt Estelle Massey of Barberton, numerous cousins; and special friends, Jack Thompson and Harvey Sawnson. All who knew him will sadly miss him, but he will be forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Koch Funeral Home, 216 S. High St., Freeport. The family will then proceed to Patterson Union Cemetery in Deersville for a service and buri al. The family suggests that me morials be made to a Hospice of your choice.

John Falkenstein

John Falkenstein, 87, passed away peacefully on April 27th (2017) with his loving family by his side.

After coming to the United States in 1952, John worked for 20 years at Ornamental Iron and retired from Parker Hannifin at the age of 62. Coco McClure (the cat)

Coco McClure, also known as "Coco Bean" (on account of her name sounding like "cocoa bean", and her cat paw beans), had died peacefully on the 21st of November in 2022 from end stage renal failure. She died surrounded by her family, while being held by Anton, in her favorite position to be carried: a baby carry. Since a lot of online resources say that dying cats, by instinct, would have found a hidden corner in somewhere such as a closet and died there, alone, her sudden decline in health and death were rather unexpected, since she did not try doing that. Coco, on the other hand, would yell for anyone's attention, such as in this recording from the 20th of October in 2022, until someone went over and either sat with her, where she then wanted the person to hold her and carry her around for a bit. Coco was a great cat, and she will be greatly missed by many of us.
